DOG OR WOLF HOODIE {THE MOTTO}
During the hardest years of my life, from 2010 to 2013, I developed a personal motto I call “dog or wolf.” It came out of grinding through setback after setback and realizing I had to reshape my mentality. To me, a dog represents someone who waits to be taken care of—who wants to be petted, fed, and given treats. A wolf is different: a hunter, independent, focused on taking what’s his.
During that time, I chose to be a wolf. No more waiting for handouts or depending on anyone to give me anything. I wasn’t trying to take from others or screw people over—I just wanted what was mine, and I was willing to hunt for it.
I still use that mindset today. Whenever I hit difficult moments, especially when money, safety, or important decisions are on the line, I ask myself: dog or wolf? There’s a time to accept what’s given, and there’s a time to be a hunter and claim what’s yours.
